Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
This policy explains in plain language what PixPress does with your photos, and what limited information the app and the services it uses process.
Who we are
PixPress is developed and operated by UDS Studio. On Google Play the app is listed as “Photo Compressor: MB to KB”. You can reach us at uds.apps.dev@gmail.com.
Photos, signatures and documents
PixPress compresses, resizes and converts images locally on your device. PixPress does not upload your selected photos, signatures or documents to PixPress servers, and does not send their contents to advertising, analytics, subscription or notification services.
You choose which images to use: through the Android Photo Picker or the system file picker, with the camera, or by sharing images to PixPress from another app. Results are saved to the location you choose. After you export a file, PixPress does not automatically upload or transmit it. If you share a file through the Android share sheet, it goes to the app you pick, and that app's own privacy policy applies.
Metadata and location information
Photos can carry metadata such as GPS location, camera model and date. PixPress reads image metadata only on your device, when needed for compression or for the metadata controls that let you remove GPS location or all EXIF data before you save or share. PixPress does not send EXIF data, GPS metadata, camera information or other image metadata to PixPress servers or to third-party analytics, advertising, subscription or notification services. PixPress does not ask for location permission.
Compression history
PixPress keeps a local history of your past compressions: references to the files, their sizes and the settings used. It is stored in the app's private storage on your device and is not synced to a server. Entries are removed automatically after 60 days. You can delete a single session in History, or clear the whole history from Settings.
Permissions
PixPress asks only for what a feature needs:
- Photos and files. PixPress does not request broad access to your photo library. You pick images with the Android Photo Picker (or the system file picker), and PixPress can read only the images you select. If you choose a custom save folder, it can write only to that folder. On Android 9 and older, where the system requires it, PixPress may ask for storage permission to save results and to delete original photos when you choose that option. On newer versions, deleting originals uses the system's own confirmation.
- Camera. Only when you choose to take a photo inside the app. The photo is kept temporarily in the app's cache and removed automatically.
- Notifications. On Android 13 and newer, PixPress asks before sending notifications. Some are created on your device, such as a compression-complete alert or an occasional reminder, and involve no server. Others are push messages sent through Firebase Cloud Messaging (see below).
- Internet. Needed for ads, analytics, crash reports, app configuration, purchases and push notifications. Compressing photos does not need a connection.
Accounts and personal details
PixPress does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts or profile information to use its compression features. The third-party services described below may still process limited device, usage, advertising, diagnostic and purchase information, as explained in the next sections.
Advertising and analytics
PixPress is supported by ads, and offers optional rewarded ads in exchange for compression credits. To show ads and understand how the app is used, it uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, plus Meta Audience Network as an ad network through AdMob mediation.
Depending on the service, your device settings and your consent choices, these services may process:
- advertising and app identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and a Firebase app instance ID
- IP address
- ad interactions, such as ads shown, clicked or watched to completion
- app interactions, such as which features and compression settings you use, and numbers like file sizes and processing time
- diagnostic information, such as crash reports, device model and operating system version
- general device information
Where required, for example in the EEA and UK, PixPress shows a consent message from Google's User Messaging Platform before requesting ads, and you can change your choice later in Settings, under About. What is collected can depend on that choice and on your device's advertising settings.
Purchases and subscriptions
PixPress offers an optional Pro subscription. Purchases are processed by Google Play, and PixPress does not see or store your payment card details. PixPress uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID that it generates, purchase and subscription information (including the Google Play purchase token), your entitlement status, and basic device information such as device type and operating system. PixPress does not send your name, email address or any photo to RevenueCat. Credits earned from rewarded ads are stored on your device.
Third-party services
PixPress uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy information:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), to show ads, including rewarded ads, and to request consent where required. Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- Meta Audience Network, an ad network that can serve ads in PixPress through AdMob mediation. Meta Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Analytics, to understand app usage. Firebase privacy information.
- Firebase Crashlytics, to diagnose crashes and improve stability. It receives crash details and device information, plus a few app details PixPress attaches, such as the number of images, compression mode and output format. Firebase privacy information.
- Firebase Remote Config, to load app configuration such as feature settings, limits and rollout options. Firebase privacy information.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), to deliver push notifications. FCM uses an installation-specific registration token for delivery; PixPress keeps this token on your device and does not send it to its own servers. Messages are sent from the Firebase console to installs of the app in general, not personalized to you. PixPress does not currently subscribe devices to FCM topics. Firebase privacy information.
- Google Play, to process in-app purchases and subscriptions. Google Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat, to manage subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
PixPress does not send the contents of your photos, signatures or documents to any of these services.
Data retention and deletion
- On your device. Compression history and settings stay until you clear them or uninstall the app. Temporary working files are removed from the app's cache automatically.
- Exported files. Photos and PDFs you save to your Gallery, Downloads, Documents or another location stay there until you delete them. Uninstalling PixPress removes its private app data, such as settings and history, but does not delete files you exported.
- Third-party services. Data processed by Google, Firebase, Meta and RevenueCat is kept according to their own policies and retention settings. PixPress has no accounts or user profiles, so it cannot look you up by name. You can reset or delete your advertising ID and turn off ad personalization in your Android settings.
- Questions. If you have a privacy question, write to uds.apps.dev@gmail.com.
Security
Image compression and metadata processing happen locally on your device. PixPress blocks unencrypted (HTTP) network traffic, and its third-party services communicate using the secure connections they provide. PixPress does not send photo, signature or document contents through analytics, advertising, subscription or notification services.
Your choices
- Manage ad personalization and reset your advertising ID in your Android settings.
- Where required, change your ad consent choice from Settings, under About.
- Turn off notifications for PixPress in your device's settings, or switch off compression alerts in PixPress Settings.
- Delete a compression session in History, or clear the whole history from Settings.
- Withdraw camera permission at any time in your device's settings.
- Delete exported files yourself, or uninstall the app to remove its private data.
Children's privacy
PixPress is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service used by PixPress, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PixPress changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
